Introduction

(n) Code Solutions, the nodal agency to the Govt. of Gujarat did float a tender to put Ahmedabad, Vadodara & Gandhinagar cities under City Surveillance and proposed 100 locations to be covered with Full HD IP PTZ & Fixed cameras monitored and managed by respective Offices of the Police Commissioners

On technical and commercial approval on the project, the tender was awarded to L&T
Infrastructure Ltd for implementation after due diligence. L&T brought in Cameras from INFINOVA, VMS from NICE and ANPR Software from KRITIKAL Solutions. L&T Infrastructure chose Proeyetech Elektrotekniks Pvt Ltd to be their Working partner in this project.

Site Description

As the project is of City Surveillance, major cross roads, junctions, highly sensitive locations are included. The locations under each city have been connected through Optic Fibre Cable (OFC) technology running throughout and terminating at the Office of the Police Commissioner. All the three locations being highly populated and 24 hours of traffic movement, it is a challenge for all the stake holders.

Project Requirements

  1. Identifying the exact location for erection of camera poles within the stipulated junction
  2. Mapping the same using GPS
  3. Implementing the latitude & longitude of the camera angles on the drawing board
  4. Identifying the nearest source of power
  5. Freeing it from the traffic movement
  6. Implementation of Optic Fibre Cable (underground) across the city using the Ring topology running across the city
  7. Installing the Cameras (fixed, PTZ and ANPR over Gantry)
  8. Addressing the allotted IP’s for each camera
  9. Co-ordinating the IP’s with the Central Monitoring Station
  10. Implementation of Video Management Software (VMS) at the Central Monitoring Station.

Scope of the Project for Proeyetech Elektrotekniks Pvt Ltd

    • Establishing the actual direction of installing Fixed Cameras as well as ANPR Cameras for coverage of maximum distance using the GPS metre reading
    • On freezing each location, the same was marked at the drawing taken out from Google Maps indicating the latitude and longitude of the location and camera directions.
  2. On receipt of approval from the monitoring agency, the poles are erected by a separate agency appointed by L&T. The network cable is drawn out of physical survey is also implemented by the Network agency appointed by L&T.
  3. Once a location is ready with every necessary requirement such as power, junction box, termination point from the OFC, the cameras are installed at the pole top using the GPS indicated angle.
  4. Senior IT engineers initiates the configuration at the camera end till the connectivity is established.
  5. Each and every location in a particular city is connected through the newly established OFC network and is terminated at the Office of the Police Commissioner of the city. The VMS is currently under implementation.
